Term time run over two terms this 16 week programme provides students with a recognised qualification and 10 SACE points

Commencing Friday 9th February 2024 10.30 - 12.30

The  programme does not require any horse riding it is suitable for all students who are interested in horses.  The programme is a mixture of classroom learning and hands on with the horses.

 

Students will be required to do some self led learning. Students have to complete and pass 3 assessments to complete the programme .

The Programme Structure

Unit 1: General Horsemanship and Safety

Unit 2:  Saddlery & Accessories 

Unit 3: Horses Health and Fitness

Students are led through all aspects of the units in the classroom and with the horses over the 16 week programme.  Jo the facilitator of the programme has a British Horse society Stage 3 in horsemanship and is a qualified equine coach, along side years of experience teaching and coaching adults, young people and children.

An EA Coach completes the assessments for each student on completion of the course. Unit 1 is a written test, units 2 & 3 are practical assessments.

Students who successfully complete the course and pass assessments are awarded 10 SACE points and can go onto complete further levels in horse management and coaching.

 

Costs: Registration is $65

​

Supported learning 2 terms 2 x 8 weeks x 2 hrs  total 32 hours  $750 (minimum 6 students)

 

Assessment cost $80 per unit total $240
